Jessica Scott-Felder is from and currently lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jessica attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Art Education. In 2005 her work was featured in the Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery and the Spruill Art Gallery.
Jessica completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking at Georgia State University in 2009 and studied experimental drawing and cyanotype printmaking at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Italy. Jessica has been selected as a Fulton County Fellowship recipient and attended the Hambidge Artist Residency in Rabun Gap, Georgia and the Vermont Studio Center for the summer of 2014.
Jessica has work featured in corporate collections in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Recent exhibitions include the A.I.R. Gallery in New York and a solo installation and performance exhibition at the Telfair Museum in Savannah, GA in 2013.
With a concentration in Art Education from her undergraduate studies, Jessica began her teaching career while pursing her Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Drawing Painting and Printmaking at Georgia State University. She sharpened her teaching skills by taking additional courses such as pedagogy, assessment, and educational technology. Jessica was hired to work full-time as visiting lecturer at her Georgia State after completion of her master’s degree and is currently Drawing and Senior Portfolio instructor at Spelman College.
